Our Story
Hi! We are Sage and Shannon, a mum and dad of two young children, living our best life on the gorgeous Sunshine Coast.
I have been a primary school teacher for the past 11 years. Over those years, I have grown a passion for building education and excitement around healthy eating for young people. Healthy food is vital for fueling bodies and brains to grow and learn.
As you can imagine, I have seen every type of lunchbox that has ever hit the market! Most days I have to assist small hands to open them because they are too tricky to do independently. I have also witnessed lunch boxes be thrown across the eating area and I have helped clean up when lunch boxes have leaked into bags. Not to mention the number of times where I have regretfully sent containers or lids home without their matching parts.
As a mum who is committed to choosing sustainable products, I know how much money is invested into these lunch boxes, yet some can break in the first term or still don’t tick all the boxes!
It’s with all of this experience, that I’ve identified the demand for a high quality, aesthetically pleasing, and practical lunch box solution.
And so Arigato Box was born, a bento box that ticks all the boxes!
Why the bento style?
Food should be a happy experience. Every time your child opens their lunch box, we want them to feel excited about diving in to their nutritious, yummy lunch! This can be achieved easily by including plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as home cooked goodies such as, pizzas scrolls, sandwiches, dinner leftovers, and of course a sneaky baked treat.
A bento style lunch box allows for easy separation of a wide variety of foods, making the food easy to access, visually appealing, and portion controlled. Without the need for additional wrappings or packaging, a bento style lunchbox supports a healthier, zero-waste lunch, meaning our earth also says thank you for reducing the unnecessary litter.
